The Hotel La Mansión del Bosque was a house that belonged to a foreign person, who was dedicated to collecting and caring for orchids. This same house was later bought by Mrs. Ruth Hyba, in the year 1966/67. During this time, Ruth devoted herself entirely to renovating, fixing up, and fitting out the first 3 bedrooms, a laundry room, a library, kitchen, and dining room. With only these rooms and spaces, she would inaugurate the Hotel on February 13, 1968. For many foreigners, it became their second home, or as they said, their home in Mexico.
Ruth introduced her own style in the special care and treatment of each and every one of her guests. She, as she said, worked 25 hours a day so that her Hotel worked the way she wanted.
From then on, the Hotel began to grow and little by little, Ruth followed her artistic skills to achieve a magical place; dedicating all her life and time to the care of her beautiful plants, among them the orchids that remained from the greenhouses.
The Hotel la Mansión del Bosque became the meeting place for countless artists. Those who visited San Miguel de Allende and stayed at La Mansión del Bosque.
